Welcome

I'm an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at University of South Florida. My research interests are in the areas of database systems, distributed systems, and multimedia systems.

I finished my Ph.D. study in August 2007 under the supervision of Dr. Sunil Prabhakar in the Department of Computer Sciences at Purdue University. I received my Master's degree in Computer Sciences at Purdue in 2003.

Zichen's work on power-efficient databases has been accepted as a full paper to ICDE'10:  Z. Xu, Y.-C. Tu, and X. Wang. Exploring Power-Performance Tradeoffs in Database Systems.

New paper accepted to ICDM'09:  B. Qin, Y. Xia, R. Sathyesh, S. Prabhakar, and Y.-C. Tu. uRule: A Rule-based Classification System for Uncertain Data  (demo).

If you are an undergraduate student interested in doing research and gaining some hands-on experience on database management systems, feel free to talk to me. I have multiple projects underway and could really use your help. I also have funds available for the REU program.

I use MSN messenger, reach me by adding "tu.yicheng@gmail.com", or you can (occasionally) reach me by skype with user name "iamtuyc".
