(reading) Assignment 3: Due
Thursday, March 26 in class.
Read the article: "Above the Clouds: ..." and
articulate your
opinions regarding the claims made in the paper. If you cannot disagree
with anything said there, then list the interesting or new to you ideas
you learned from this reading. Return a (honest) 1-page paper with your
ideas and comments. We will discuss in class this article and
other aspects of cloud computing and your participation is expected.

a) Answer the following questions from
textbook: 5.2, 5.5, 5.12
b) Identify and explain the flow of communications and calls between
the components presented in Figures 5.7 (for RMI) and 5.8 (for RPC).
Identify: i) which components are transparent to the programmer; and
ii) which components in the RMI figure correspond to which components
in the RPC figure.
